Dear Diary, (that shouldn't be posted on the internet)
sorry I haven't written in awhile. This is usally considered a good thing because it means I have been busy doing other things. Its nearly the end of February which is always a good thing for a month to end when it has dragged for awhile. Alot has happened recently, as well as receiving alot of packages I ordered such as the Cloud Limited Edition PS3 and a Naruto volume 53 from my wonderful sister. I cut out the rest of my craft foam for my cosplay armour for Vaan. All I have left to do is the fingers on the gloves. I also finally got to play Final Fantasy XIII-2 when I visited my family 2 weeks ago, and I got to say it is amazing.
Not many people in RoundUp like XIII-2 but I seriously do not care if Kaerith doesnt like it either. At the end of the day, I love it, its a game for me to enjoy. I love the time-travelling, the moogle, the exploration, the cinematic action sequences, the graphics, the battles, how monsters can join the party everything. My brother criticised that the game is too easy but after XIII being impossible sometimes to beat the boss and tedious this is a great improvement.
After that weekend I returned to Uni and the same stuff continued. Work, lectures, coursework, assignments and goodness me Monday was a horrible day for me. As well as being cold I had no sleep that night stressing about work, travelling, cosplay and other things, one of which being houses. That day I got back to Uni, went to Kaerith's to discuss about the housing situation for next year and like a lightbulb went fast to sleep whilse she played Metal Gear Solid because I virtually had no sleep. I then woke up disoritenated four hours later ready to go see a house with my friends kaerith and Madnut. The houses were being run by an estate agent called Saxons and our realtor was called Rufians. Rufians came across to me as a salesperson with a forceful pitch. Madnut came with all these questions beforehand ready and prepared which made Rufians a formidable opponent in the art of conning. The house was beautiful, but Rufians wanted us to sign the contract there and then, for us this was ringing alarm bells.
You never sign a contract until you read what you've been given. We told Rufians after 2 hours, that we'll sleep on it and we're not signing anything. However after a talk with parents, expert advice from Madnut's mummy and a look on the internet about people's experiences with Saxons being quite frankly sh**. We decided to look for another house. During this time, my flat mate Hubert was becoming very anti-social. Hubert got his electric guiatir recently and an amplifier, which means he hardly knocks on my door anymore to say hello, let alone check I'm still alive. It's okay though I guess, there's still Sarah and Steph but I hope he's okay. I miss the early days where we chatted in the kitchen about life and lectures, but thats life. People find more better things to do, like playing the guitair. Time passed as usual, until last Friday where we saw House #2. Shown to us by a lovely private landlord called Mary. She was ever so sweet and not pushy like Rufians. And the house had a homely feel. The only problem was it wasn't as big as the Saxons one and making the final decision straight away feels reckless, like not considering everything, so we told Mary we'll sleep on it and thank goodness for that, she didn't pester us to reconsider like Rufians. That Saturday, Kaerith and I were planning to go to HyperJapan and on Friday night, I went to bed early at 1am (no that's not early for some people but considering I fell asleep for four at 4:30pm, this is quite an achievement) until my phone beeped. I was very lucky I had gotten a new phone, being a Blackberry. My old phone had very short battery life and was atrocious in texting and at that moment Kaerith had some problems.
It seemed strange at first, I thought it was alittle joke but I realized not long after that it wasn't and so Kaerith came to stay the night so we sort out the problem at hand. Poor Kaerith, she really has been through alot lately, as well as worrying about the house among other things and work, she's been stressing out abit too much. I really do believe as students and friends, we're the only people who can look out for one another in times of need. Helping Kaerith resulted in 1 hour sleep, meaning HyperJapan was a very tired and surreal blur of hyperactivity. Cosplaying Sora went well, apart from a stupid button coming off and not having the right boots. Kaerith cosplayed Aerith Kingdom Hearts II version and we got alot of photo requests from people, although how many of them we will ever see is another question altogether.
I enjoyed HyperJapan, just next time I want to have more sleep for it. I enjoyed trying out new video games coming out, such as Naruto Generations, Soul Calibur and also drinking the free Yakult that was on offer. Meeting from the RoundUp was lovely and also abit crazy, Manticore molested Kaerith right in front of me. Usually a female would scream if her breasts were grabbed there and then but Kaerith is not your average female... Manticore also tried to rape me with a sword, however I managed to block his attack wigth my keyblade and a battle ensued. Bless Manticore, he won a prize on the masquerade I think and deserved it.
One thing I didn't like cosplaying Sora that day was the baggy trousers, every single time I walked quickly, my trousers felt like they would give way, how on earth did I lose weight with a junk diet at Uni. Surely eating Aero chocolate bars makes you put on weight O.o And also I got a very ugly photo taken of myself by a professional photograph team known as Cosplay Portrait, never again, Kaerith said I looked 40 in the photo. Never again.
Sunday was spent being lazy and getting rest as well as attempting to watch Horror films with Hubert, Sarah and Steph. Hubert was being very annoying, didn't want to watch 30 Days of Night or One Missed Call. In the end we watched Anti-Christ. Which wasn't much of a horror but just explicit disgustingness which I'm not going to mention here because why should I want to make other people feel like clutching to their groins.
Monday, 27th February. We decided to go for House #2, Mary told us we lost the house by about 1 minute.
You can imagine how annoyed and frustated we were to find we lost the house by a futile one minute. Nevertheless we picked ourselves up again and began searching. House #3 was a fail yesterday due to the realtor losing the keys. So today fingers crossed it goes well. Kaerith was at first very depressed but now she's being positive but perhaps not in the best way. Being a Metal Gear Solid fan she loves how Snake goes around in a cardboard box on missions. Kaerith basically said our motto is 'My Destiny is to live in a Cardboard Box' because basically we're never going to find a house and have to live in something like a bin, box or treehouse which was my suggestion. Oh the giggles and LOLs of imagining living in a cardboard box.
So yes diary, if it all does go belly-side up. My next diary entries should be written from a cardboard box.
